While there are some similarities between adults and children, OSA does not have the same consequences in both populations.[1] Examples of similarities are the snoring – which is the most common complaint in both pediatric OSA and OSA in adults[1] –, variability of blood pressure and cardiovascular morbidities.[2] A major difference is the excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) which is commonly reported in adult OSA,[3] while it is not very common in pediatric OSA.[1] Nevertheless, OSA in adults also implies a large scope of adverse and serious consequences,[4] the latter leading to higher mortality amongst OSA patients.[5] Those consequences are even worsen by common morbidities such as obesity.[6]
